Community Spotlight: West Burlington

Two Rivers Bank & Trust is a community bank and we take great joy in being involved and giving back to the communities that we serve.

“Volunteering and community development help to enrich the lives of others as well as enriching your own life. By helping others in need, it gives your life a meaning or purpose,” says Bobbie McCain, Two Rivers Bank & Trust West Burlington Teller Supervisor. “I enjoy giving back to my community simply because it makes me feel good. Something as minimal as a hot meal or help cleaning can be life-changing to someone else.”

West Burlington team members enjoy supporting local businesses by attending Ribbon Cuttings, Open Houses, Grand Openings and Anniversary Events. Additionally, our team members participate and volunteer in several programs and events including the following:

Hospice House – Great River Home Health and Hospice

We have volunteered to cook meals for families staying and visiting loved ones at Great River Home Health and Hospice a few times in the last six months. Two Rivers Bank & Trust so graciously sponsors through the purchase of food for meals, cooked by branch volunteers.

Meals on Wheels (Milestones Area Agency on Aging)

Meals on Wheels is supported by volunteers who deliver a nutritious meal, a warm smile, and a safety check that helps keep 2.5 million seniors healthy, safe, and living independently in their own homes each year. Two Rivers Bank & Trust team members get into the volunteer rotation as often as possible, with a group of bank employees volunteering every Friday.

Salvation Army

Two Rivers Bank & Trust team members have helped ring the bell during the fall and Christmas season, set up the Toy Shop and shop for families in need from donations from community members. Additionally, our team members helped organize and pack up their 3rd Street location for the move to the new building, while also volunteering to help organize the new space.

Junior Achievement of the Heartland

The Junior Achievement program introduces students to finances, the importance of business, needs vs wants, etc. All Two Rivers Bank & Trust West Burlington branch Personal Bankers and Loan Officers have taught a class for Junior Achievement. Team members also recently participated in a Bowl-A-Thon that helped to raise money to support this program.

Miles & Memories Great River Home Health and Hospice

On October 5, 2019, Two Rivers Bank & Trust is proud to sponsor this event, while branch members are volunteering to help with set up and clean up.

Burlington Kiwanis – The Shamrock Shuffle

The Shamrock Shuffle is a project of Burlington Kiwanis. All proceeds from the Shamrock Shuffle will be used to support Kiwanis’s efforts to serve the children of Burlington, West Burlington, and surrounding areas. Our team members volunteered at one of the color stations to throw color at the runners/walkers.

SCC’s Dirty Hawk Dash
