Holiday season means holiday shopping! Three of the busiest shopping days happen during the same weekend – Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, meaning plenty of deals to go around! Here are a few tips to help you best take advantage of sales, without draining your bank account.
Black Friday/Cyber Monday
Set a Budget– Determine a budget that will help you avoid overbuying. Plan out your shopping, making sure to pay close attention to the cost of your desired items. Make it a goal to finish your weekend under budget.
Research– Determine discounts before pre-holiday prices spike. Many deals may seem suspicious, but doing your research before Friday and Saturday will help you avoid overpaying.
App and Coupon Aggregator– There are a ton of Black Friday apps and coupon aggregators out there. Some of the more popular ones include Shopular, Flipp, The Coupons App, and The BlackFriday App. All these apps include plenty of deals and notify you of late-breaking deals.
Small Business Saturday
Social Media– Small businesses know it’s Small Business Saturday so they’ll be drumming up plenty of publicity for the day. Check out their social media accounts for any updates or deals they may be advertising.
Newspaper– Some local newspapers celebrate Small Business Saturday by highlighting a handful of local businesses. Check it out and see which businesses are being recommended, then grab your purse and go check them out!
Local Local Local– Here in Iowa we have a website called Locals Love Us, which highlights many of the local businesses in your city with all their information. Find a spot near you and have a look for yourself!
