Since 2010, the Saturday after Thanksgiving has been dedicated to supporting small businesses by encouraging Americans to “shop small.”
Then, Tom Shay, principal of Profits Plus, and Kerry Bannigan, Co-Founder of Nolcha, banned together in 2011 to establish the first ever Independent Retailer Month. Ever since, we celebrate independent businesses annually during the month of July by encouraging consumers to shop at independent retailers which in turn helps to build our economy, create more sustainable cities, towns and neighborhoods.
This year during Independent Retailer Month, Two Rivers Bank & Trust wants to salute local businesses in the neighborhoods we serve who aim to improve the health and well-being of our communities.
Located in North Liberty, Archie’s is a locally owned and operated auto repair service that’s available to service everything from a routine oil change and tire rotation to a high-level automotive repair. Owner Ron Mace named the company after his best friend, Archie – a 13-year-old black lab who was the inspiration for the shop’s name, logo and the way they do business. The team of three honors Archie’s legacy by carrying through his best qualities in their work – always being there, listening to concerns and doing their very best to make their customers happy.
