Work with Us to Protect Your Information

January 28 is Data Privacy Day!

While it might not be as exciting as National Cheesecake Day (July 30, 2017), Data Privacy Day is extremely important to us at Two Rivers Bank & Trust.

Data PrivacyEvery two seconds someone has their identity stolen. With online theft and credit card theft increasing, protecting your privacy should be a top priority. At Two Rivers we take pride in protecting your information and want you to be proactive as well.

We’ll send you a notification if we think a charge on your account is suspicious or fraudulent. Our mobile app gives you the ability to automatically turn off your debit card with the touch of a button if it’s lost or stolen.

The National Cyber Security Alliance is a great resource for information and tips to keep your identity and confidential information secure.

Here are some of their suggestions:

  • Don’t make it easy.Strengthen your online account security by enabling the strongest authentication tools available, such as biometrics or security keys. Your usernames and passwords are not enough to protect important accounts like email, banking and social media.
  • Own your online presence: Set the privacy and security settings on web services and devices to only share information you want to share. It’s ok to limit how and with whom you share information.
  • Be a little skeptical: Ignore emails or communications that create a sense of urgency and require you to respond to a crisis, such as a problem with your bank account or taxes. These messages are likely a scam.

Jodi Brown, Compliance Assistant at Two Rivers Bank & Trust, agrees. “Don’t believe everything you hear. A lot of messages are going to say you won a big prize, but they, of course, want money first. Always use caution.”
